Zagreb – Lagos Plitvice – Rastoke – Zagreb

Leaving Zagreb in the morning, directly from your accommodation. We will travel towards Plitvice Lakes National Park.

Your guide will stroll with you around the park, showing the best routes, curiosities, history and much more.

The Plitvice Lakes National Park is a place of unique natural beauty. There are 16 larger lakes and several smaller lakes. The lakes are all interconnected as if they were a ladder – they are cascading one into the other over a number of beautiful waterfalls. The Park covers the area of around 300 km2 and it is inscribed on the UNESCO list of World Heritage.

After the park, we will stop for lunch at the small village of Rastoke. This small town has lots of old mills that used to work thanks to the waters of Plitvice Lakes National Park. Rastoke is the perfect spot to eat fresh trouts!

After lunch, we will come back to Zagreb.

Zagreb – Truffle Hunt – Motovun – Distillery/Tasting – Zagreb

Leaving Zagreb in the morning, directly from your accommodation. We will travel towards the Istrian region, the Croatian Italy. Istria region is known for small acropolis towns, made of stone with stunning views. The region is also known for its delicious gastronomy. Istria has lots of wines, olive oil, and truffles!

On this day trip, you will have the chance to go Truffle Hunting! For our Truffle Hunt adventure, we will arrive at the small town of Buzet. Meet our hunt crew, the humans, and the dogs, and start our challenge. After the hunt, we will have a delicious light lunch. Appetizers, main meal and dessert all with variations of truffles! And always with a great local wine, water or juice. Our Truffle Hunt experience will last about 2h30.

Later on, we will head to Motovun. The city sits on the top of a hill and has a breathtaking view. We will explore within the walls of Motovun, strolling inside its small alleys and streets. The city also hosts every year, the Motovun Film Festival. The most famous film festival in the country.

After enjoying this little town full of history, we will end the day at one of the best Distillery Tasting House’s in Croatia.

They produce liquor, rakija, jam, Gin… Everything in the most organic possible way. They have over 15 different types of Rakija, the country’s traditional drink. And you will be able to taste them!

In addition to the tasting. We will also learn about the process and production of liqueurs and brandy.

Our tasting will have 3 types of brandy and, as accompaniment, cheese, ham, sausage, salami, olives, and homemade bread.

After this incredible experience in the Istrian region, we will go back to Zagreb, the capital of Croatia.

Zagreb – Postojna – Ljubljana – Zagreb

Leaving Zagreb in the morning directly from your accommodation. We will travel towards our neighboring country, Slovenia. Our first stop will be at Postojna Caves.

Postojna is an incredible underground world, full of rare species, indigenous inhabitants, and natural sculptures. The underground tour takes about 1h30. 3.5km is done by train and the other 1.5km walking.

After the caves, we will head to Ljubljana the capital of Slovenia. Ljubljana is a very charming city. Full of cafes, local shops, small streets and an incredible atmosphere. We will see the main points of the center and have free time to stroll around.

Later we will go back to Zagreb.

Zagreb – Lake Bled – Ljubljana – Zagreb

Leaving Zagreb in the morning, directly from your accommodation. We will travel towards our neighboring country, Slovenia. Our first stop will be at Lake Bled.

Bled is a stunning city by the lake. To make it even more magical, inside the lake there is an island and a small church. If you wish you can visit the island with the Pletna boat. The traditional wooden boats of Bled.

Later we will visit Bled Castle, the oldest castle in the country. It is located on the top of a hill and hides the most stunning view of the lake. Inside you will be able to see their own production of wine, and their traditional wine bottling process. And also a demonstration of printing on a reconstructed Gutenberg’s printing machine.

After the castle, we will try the most iconic dessert of Bled: Kremšnita. This dessert is a golden crispy crust, with a delicious vanilla cream topped with whipped cream and a crispy layer of butter dough and finally, last but not least, a good dusting of icing sugar. Hard to describe but really worth it to try!

Later we will head to Ljubljana, the capital of Slovenia. Ljubljana is a very charming city. Full of cafes, local shops, small streets and an incredible atmosphere. We will see the main points of the center and have free time to stroll around.

Later we will go back to Zagreb.

Zagreb – Wine Tasting in Slovenia – Maribor – Zagreb

Leaving Zagreb in the morning, directly from your accommodation. We will travel towards our neighboring country, Slovenia. We will visit a traditional winery for a special tasting: Wine vs Chocolate.

After our wine experience, we will go to Maribor, the second largest city in Slovenia. We will see the main points of the center and you will have free time for lunch and for enjoying the city.

Later we will go back to Zagreb.

Zagreb – Karlovac – Turanj – Zagreb

Leaving Zagreb in the morning, directly from your accommodation we will travel towards Karlovac, the city of 4 rivers. Arriving in Karlovac you will see a real green city, with medieval and modern history. The Old Town of Karlovac was built from scratch by the Austrians in 1579, as a six-pointed star fortress. The unique star shape can still be seen around the town until today. So we will stroll around this city that was severely attacked under the Homeland War.

Besides visiting the Old Town we will also visit the river Korana and the Akvatika, the only freshwater aquarium of the region. Each town of the Karlovac County has its river – Ozalj has Kupa, Duga Resa has Mrežnica, Slunj has Korana, and Ogulin has Dobra. The four rivers meet in Karlovac. And that is why it is the perfect spot for a freshwater aquarium.

Later we’ll have lunch at the incredible Castle Dubovac. If you wish we can also visit it’s museum and tower, to have the best view of the city.

After exploring the city we will cross the Mreznica river and visit the Museum of War, in Turanj.

At the end of the day trip, we will drive you back to Zagreb, the capital of Croatia.

Zagreb – Karlovac – Boat tour – Zagreb

Leaving Zagreb in the morning, directly from your accommodation we will travel towards Karlovac, the city of 4 rivers. Besides being the city of 4 rivers, Karlovac is also known as the city of parks. It is a lovely medieval town with rich history. The Old Town of Karlovac was built from scratch by the Austrians in 1579, as a six-pointed star fortress. The unique star shape can still be seen around the town until today. Besides visiting the Old Town we will also visit the river Korana and the Akvatika, the only freshwater aquarium of the region.

After strolling through the old center of the city, we will embark on Žitna Lađa Zora, a traditional wooden boat that was once used for transport of grain and similar goods.

The boat tour includes a 90-minute ride on the Kupa River, as well as tasting of the homemade liqueur and traditional local cake. During the tour, the captain will introduce the history of the boat and the region, and the rich and diverse fauna and flora of the river and the surrounding villages. During the ride, you will see the remains of an old railway bridge, destroyed in the Homeland war, a Franciscan monastery and the Church of Our Lady of Kamenski. If you are lucky enough, you will have a chance to see several animals, like ducks, eagles, otters and beavers accompanying us. Visitors will enjoy their tour listening to the traditional music of the region, but they will also be offered to buy coffee, wine, juice, beer, liqueurs, homemade rakija, and handmade souvenirs. Those who are brave can even take the place of the captain at the helm of the boat and the younger ones can ring the bell.
